As the business continues to expand, we are looking for an Equipment Inspector to join our growing team.
About the Role
As an Equipment Inspector, you will play a key role in assessing and managing equipment across our busy yard environment. This is a highly hands-on, outdoor role involving the movement of vehicles and machinery, conducting visual and functional inspections, and ensuring all items are prepared for auction.
You will spend most of your day working outdoors, operating loaders and forklifts, walking the yard, climbing on and off machinery, and assisting with loading/unloading activities. You'll work closely with yard and sales teams to maintain inventory accuracy and ensure all assets meet quality and safety standards.
It is a physical, fast-paced role that suits someone who enjoys practical work, being outside in all weather conditions, and staying active throughout the day.
Location: Newcastle NSW
Work Pattern: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm (Overtime available)
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed equipment inspections to ensure accurate specifications and quality control.
- Conduct vehicle check-in, appraisals, and photography to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Operate loaders and forklifts to safely manage asset movement within the yard.
- Verify inventory details, including serial numbers, contract documentation, and condition reports.
- Recover and manage vehicle keys, license plates, and other essential items.
- Assist in equipment loading/unloading, yard setup, and auction preparations.
- Support sales teams with equipment appraisals and customer inquiries.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with company standards.
What We're Looking For:
- Experience: 2+ years in a similar operational role (automotive, auction, logistics, or salvage industries preferred).
- Valid Driver's License, Forklift License, and Wheel Loader License (or willingness to obtain).
- Mechanically minded, with an eye for detail and an understanding of heavy equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment, handling equipment and yard operations.
- Proficiency in MS Office and inventory management systems.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to perform yard tasks, lift and move assets, and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
