Senior Accounts Officer – Construction Industry Laverton North | Permanent Opportunity 

Are you an experienced Senior Accounts Officer with a background in the construction, crane hire, transport or civil industries?
HOBAN Recruitment is partnering with a well-established Australian business to recruit a hands-on finance professional to join their close-knit team in Laverton North. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a stable organisation replacing a long-standing employee who is retiring.

Construction industry experience is essential for this role, as you'll be working with industry-specific payroll requirements, project-based accounting and a fast-paced operational environment.
About the Role This is a broad, hands-on position where you'll take ownership of:

• Accounts Receivable
• Accounts Payable
• Weekly payroll processing for approximately 60 employees (increasing to around 100 during peak periods)
• Bank and account reconciliations
• General ledger maintenance
• Supporting month-end processes
• Maintaining accurate financial records using Xero
• Providing general finance and administration support to the business

About You To be successful, you will have:

• Demonstrated experience in a Senior Accounts Officer, Accounts & Payroll Officer or Bookkeeper role
• Previous experience within the construction, crane hire, civil, transport or a related industry (essential)
• Strong experience across Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and payroll
• Experience processing payroll for a mixed permanent and casual workforce
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• The ability to work autonomously while working collaboratively within a small team
• Experience using Xero or the ability to quickly learn new accounting systems
