⏰ Shift: 4:30am - 1:00pm
💲 Pay Rate: $36.13 per hour
Inner West Council is seeking a reliable, safety-focused Team Member Loader to join its Waste Services team on a fixed-term contract. This physically demanding, hands-on role plays a key part in delivering essential waste collection services to the Inner West community.
Working as part of a crew, you will assist with residential and trade waste collection and, as required, operate a waste compaction vehicle across designated collection routes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the collection and loading of domestic, trade, green and food organics waste
- Operate and drive waste compaction vehicles when required
- Complete daily collection runs and ensure bins are returned correctly after service
- Follow Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and Standard Operating Procedures
- Wear and maintain appropriate PPE at all times
- Report hazards, incidents, damaged or missed bins
- Assist with vehicle checks, cleaning and refuelling
- Participate in training and Inner West Council's Work Safe Stay Safe program
Essential Requirements
- Current HR Driver's Licence
- Ability to safely perform physically demanding outdoor work
- Demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with supervisors, fellow employees and members of the public
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proven team working experience in an operational environment
- Basic literacy and computer skills
- Availability for early starts, weekends and public holidays as required
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- Sound understanding of Workplace Health & Safety requirements
- Experience operating mechanical road plant in a high-density urban environment
