HOBAN Recruitment is recruiting for the role of APS6 Program Coordinator on behalf of our client, a key Federal Government agency based in either SYDNEY or CANBERRA. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful programs that support culturally safe outcomes and strengthen workforce capability through engagement with First Nations communities and partners.
About the Role
As an APS6 Program Coordinator, you will play a vital role in coordinating and delivering complex programs with a strong focus on cultural safety and inclusion. You will support the design, implementation, and evaluation of initiatives that align with organisational priorities and contribute to improved outcomes for First Nations peoples.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating and managing program activities, deliverables, and reporting requirements.
- Supporting culturally responsive program design and delivery through engagement with First Nations stakeholders.
- Managing program risks, budgets, and governance documentation.
- Developing and implementing evaluation frameworks and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Contributing to training and capability development resources that promote cultural safety.
- Preparing high-quality reports, briefs, and communications for senior stakeholders.

About You
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Demonstrated experience in coordinating and delivering complex programs or projects.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, particularly working respectfully with First Nations communities and service providers.
- A sound understanding of cultural safety principles and co-design approaches.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Analytical and problem-solving capabilities to support continuous improvement.
- Experience in contract, grant, or financial management within a government or community context.
Desirable:
- Experience working with Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations or First Nations-led programs.
- Knowledge of government frameworks and procurement processes.
- Qualifications in project management, community development, or a related field.
