We're seeking an experienced APS6 Program Coordinator to support the delivery of key initiatives aimed at improving outcomes for First Nations peoples. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to meaningful, community-focused work within a major Federal Government program.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and deliver complex programs and projects, ensuring timelines, deliverables, budgets, and reporting requirements are met.
Support culturally safe and inclusive program design in partnership with First Nations communities and stakeholders.
Manage contracts, grants, and procurement processes in accordance with Commonwealth frameworks.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, external providers, and community organisations.
Contribute to program evaluation, risk management, and continuous improvement activities.
Prepare high-quality reports, briefs, and communications for senior stakeholders.
Essential Criteria
Demonstrated experience in program or project management, including governance, milestone tracking, and reporting.
Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with the ability to work respectfully with First Nations communities.
Sound understanding of First Nations cultures and commitment to fostering culturally safe environments.
Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outputs under tight deadlines.
Experience in contract and grant management, including financial tracking and compliance.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Desirable Criteria
Experience working in or with First Nations organisations, including Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations.
Knowledge of co-design and place-based approaches to program delivery.
Familiarity with government program management frameworks and grant administration processes.
Background in strategic initiatives within health, disability, or social services.
Qualifications in public administration, project management, community development, or a related field.
