HOBAN Recruitment is recruiting for the role of APS 6 level Senior Finance Support Officer on behalf of our Federal Government client, located in Woden, Canberra, ACT. This exciting opportunity offers a leadership position within a key branch, overseeing finance and budget management services while guiding a high-performing team to deliver quality outcomes.
About the Role:
In this leadership role, you'll provide direction, guidance and expertise across a range of finance and budget management functions.
You will:
- Lead and mentor a team to achieve branch and agency objectives.
- Oversee day-to-day operations relating to budget planning, monitoring, and reporting.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on complex financial management issues.
- Ensure compliance with the PGPA Act and the Commonwealth Resource Management Framework.
- Manage stakeholder relationships and represent the branch at internal forums.
- Identify and implement improvement initiatives to enhance financial practices.
- Support the preparation of budget materials and reporting to senior leadership.

About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- Proven experience in finance, budget management, or related disciplines.

- In-depth knowledge of public sector financial frameworks and the PGPA Act.

Eligibility
- You must be an Australian Citizen
- Ability to obtain and maintain a BASELINE clearance.
