This role is integral to ensuring the timely and effective acquisition of goods and services, with a focus on supporting business units, schools, and preschools across the state.
About the Role
As a Procurement Officer, you will provide expert advice and support for procurement and contracting activities, ensuring compliance with the Department's Procurement Framework and Treasurer's Instruction 18.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice and support to ensure timely and compliant procurement processes.
- Coordinate tender evaluation and renewal processes, including contract negotiations and documentation.
- Maintain and audit contract records, ensuring all variations and service failures are updated.
- Contribute to the development and review of procurement strategies, policies, and systems.
- Facilitate negotiations with service providers and stakeholders to achieve value for money.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with relevant government and departmental guidelines.
About You
- Proven ability to manage multiple procurement projects, including developing acquisition plans and tender packages.
- Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to work under limited supervision.
- Experience in advising on value-for-money procurement practices and strategies.
- Knowledge of the Treasurer's Instruction 18, PSSA Policy, etc.
- Excellent communication skills and experience in liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
- Commitment to creating a safe and inclusive work environment in line with legislative requirements.
- Hold a current National Police Check and Working With Children Check.
