Comprised of both paid staff and a large volunteer base, it is responsible for responding to and managing fire emergencies, providing education on fire safety, and promoting community readiness. With a strong focus on risk reduction and disaster resilience, this organisation works across the state and nationally, ensuring the safety of life, property, and the environment.
Seeking a dedicated Engineering Coordinator to lead the design, development, and evaluation of vital equipment and products, ensuring they are fit for purpose and deliver exceptional value for money.
About the role:
As an Engineering Coordinator, you'll have the opportunity to apply your expertise in engineering design and technical management to develop innovative solutions that directly support the safety and effectiveness of our operations. This role is integral to ensuring the organisation can continue to serve and protect communities across NSW.
What You'll Do:
- Drive the design, testing, and evaluation of products and services across engineering categories, including appliances, PPE/PPC, equipment, and foams/chemicals, ensuring compliance with legislation and statutory requirements.
- Analyse data to support strategic decision-making and optimise business outcomes while implementing procurement solutions that enhance operational capability.
- Provide strategic advice on procurement risks, supplier performance, and operational efficiency.
- Develop, communicate, and implement technical documents, codes of practice, and other resources for the organisation and the broader community.
- Stay up to date with legislation, policies, and best practices, fostering a high-performing and inclusive culture.
What We're Looking For:
- A Diploma or Degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent expertise.
- Proven experience in engineering design, including interpreting drawings, specifications, and standards, while managing probity, risk, and value for money.
- Expertise in technical management, research, and problem-solving, with a track record of implementing complex research and development projects.
- A strong appreciation for volunteer-based community services.
