APS 6 Business Analyst

Role Details

• Role Type: Temporary assignment
• Salary: APS6 equivalent $62.26 p/h + superannuation
• Start: April, pending interview and security clearances
• Location: Brisbane

About the Role

As an APS6 Business Analyst, you will play a key role in analysing and improving business processes, ensuring alignment with legislative and policy frameworks.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Analysing and documenting current and future state business processes.
• Eliciting, documenting, and managing business requirements into Epics and User Stories.
• Identifying inefficiencies and recommending process improvements.
• Conducting systems testing against defined acceptance criteria.
• Facilitating workshops with stakeholders, Business Analysts, UX/UI Designers, and technology teams.
• Identifying potential risks and issues, tracking problems, and recommending solutions.
• Developing and maintaining subject matter expertise across new systems and processes.
• Producing reports, interpreting data, and analysing results using standard statistical techniques.
• Coordinating divisional and branch reporting requirements to monitor and track performance outcomes.
• Supporting the transition of business requirements to development teams and ensuring built solutions align with business needs.
• Implementing and maintaining governance, compliance, audit, and risk management processes.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Proven experience in business process analysis and documentation.
• Strong ability to elicit and manage business requirements.
• Excellent problem-solving skills to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
• Experience in testing systems against defined acceptance criteria.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including workshop facilitation.
• Risk assessment and issue resolution experience.
• Ability to develop and maintain expertise in new systems and processes.

Desirable Skills

• Data analysis experience to identify trends and insights.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
• Proficiency in business analysis tools such as Jira and Confluence.
• Experience in recommending and implementing process improvements.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration capabilities.

• Ability to pass and maintain a National Police Check and other pre-employment checks.
