About the team
The Legal Operations team, one of six teams within the LPC Branch, plays a critical role in supporting the Chief Counsel and General Counsel Divisions with operational and administrative functions, including supporting Administrative Review Tribunal (ART) matters, FOI requests, and complaints.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Legislative and Framework Compliance: Ensure adherence to legislative frameworks, with strict adherence to statutory timeframes.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with key stakeholders including internal and external lawyers, the Tribunal, and case managers to support the agency's goals.
- Research and Assessment: Research and assess business system information to create case summaries, draft responses for ART correspondence, complaints, and FOI requests.
- Administrative Tasks: Manage administrative tasks efficiently within a high-demand environment.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to process improvement initiatives by providing feedback and suggestions on procedural documents.
- Other responsibilities as required.
About you
To thrive in this role, you will demonstrate the following:
- Paralegal or similar background (e.g., law student, legal administration) is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail in all tasks.
- Computer literacy and proficiency with relevant business systems and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work effectively and produce high-quality work within a deadline-driven environment.
- High-level organisational and administrative abilities.
- Methodical and process-driven approach to tasks.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Must be an Australian Citizen.
- Must be able to pass a national police check.
