Construction and Maintenance Worker - Mount Gambier
Are you an experienced and hands-on worker looking for a rewarding role in construction and maintenance? We are seeking a dedicated professional to support field operations in Mount Gambier. This is a temporary opportunity offering competitive pay and full-time hours within a government contingent labour panel.
About the Role
As a Construction and Maintenance Worker, you will assist in field operations, performing essential maintenance and construction tasks to ensure the efficient functioning of infrastructure in Mount Gambier.
Location: Mount Gambier
Duration: ASAP - 3 months
Capacity: Full-time (7:30 AM - 3:30 PM)
Salary: SAW3 $41.61 per hour (including casual loading)
Key Responsibilities
Undertake construction, maintenance, and operational tasks on complex water systems.
Perform manual handling tasks, working at heights, and confined space work as required.
Operate and maintain tools, machinery, and vehicles in line with safety guidelines.
Assist in environmental reporting and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Engage in preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance work.
Provide a high level of customer service and collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
About You
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Essential:
Certificate III in Water Operations, or willingness to complete.
Class C Driver's Licence.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Strong customer service skills.
Numeracy and literacy skills required to undertake the role and ability to use multiple electronic systems and applications.
Desirable:
Applicable heavy fleet licences/tickets (e.g. MR, HC, Excavator, etc.).
Skilled in the use and maintenance of hand and power tools, small machinery, and various static and mobile vehicles, plant, and machinery.
Knowledge of OHS&W, Water Quality, and Environmental procedures and understanding of the operation and maintenance of systems and applications.
