HOBAN Recruitment is recruiting for the role of APS6 LEVEL Service Designer on behalf of our client, located in NEWCASTLE NSW. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to meaningful improvements in service delivery within a critical national scheme.
About the Role:
As an APS6 level Service Designer, you will play a key role in designing and improving service experiences for participants. You will work in a multi-disciplinary team, applying human-centred design principles to develop and implement service improvements.
This role requires a strong understanding of stakeholder engagement, research, and service design methodologies.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting research and identifying insights to inform service improvements.
- Co-creating and documenting current state service experiences and business processes.
- Leading and facilitating design-thinking workshops with service users.
- Advocating for participant and stakeholder voices in service development.
- Applying in-depth knowledge of the agency's functions and impacts across work areas.
- Ensuring service improvements align with the Digital Service Standard.
- Evaluating proposed solutions at both a conceptual and tactical level.

About You:
We are looking for a motivated and skilled professional with:
- Experience in service design, including developing service design artefacts.
- Strong communication, synthesis, and creative problem-solving skills.
- Ability to drive Human-Centred Design-led thinking.
- Qualitative and quantitative research capabilities.
- Stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work in an agile, multi-disciplinary team on large projects.
- Capacity to navigate change and ambiguity in a dynamic environment.
Desirable:
- Experience in the disability, social services, or public sector.
- Familiarity with Jira, SharePoint, Miro, Mural, or similar tools.
