Collections Officer

We are seeking a dedicated Collections Officers to join our Victorian State Government Department's team for a 3-6 month assignment to manage overdue accounts, resolve disputes, and support customers in a fast-paced, customer-centric role.
Key Responsibilities
- Debt Recovery & Dispute Resolution - Proactively manage overdue accounts, resolve disputes, and ensure compliance with approved guidelines.
- Negotiation & Payment Arrangements - Work with customers to establish fair and manageable payment plans.
- Workflow Management - Process financial requests such as payment arrangements, extensions, and direct debit requests.
- Record Keeping - Maintain accurate customer interaction records and provide timely reports when required.
- Compliance - Ensure all debt collection activities align with legal and company policies.
- Cross-Functional Support - Collaborate with internal teams to enhance the overall customer experience.
Skills & Experience
- 2+ years of collections experience
- Experience in customer service or finance administration
- Strong understanding of accounting and accounts payable principles
- Experience with Oracle or similar finance systems
- Proficient computer skills (including Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software)
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a structured environment
- Customer-focused, approachable, and solution-oriented
Assignment Details
- Start date: approx 7th of April, 2025
- Duration: 3-6 months
- Hours: 38 hours per week
- Location: Training in Footscray office, flexible working options available
- Payrate: $52.76ph + super
