HOBAN Recruitment is seeking an experienced EL1 Level Data and Business Analyst to join a high-performing Strategic and Operations Reporting team.
This role can be located in either DEAKIN ACT or SURRY HILLS NSW.
This role is crucial in transforming raw data into actionable insights, enabling efficiency in operations, and enhancing strategic decision-making. Working closely with stakeholders, you will develop reporting solutions, ensure data integrity, and contribute to business success through effective analysis and visualisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with stakeholders to understand and document requirements, translating business needs into data-driven solutions.
- Develop and deliver high-quality reporting products, ensuring alignment with user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Improve efficiency by creating a 'single source of truth' for all reporting, using rich and drillable visualisations.
- Manage reporting projects end-to-end, from requirements gathering to development and implementation.
- Adhere to coding and technical standards while ensuring accessibility and user experience considerations are met.
- Test and validate data to ensure accuracy and reliability of reports.
- Collaborate with business areas and technical teams to drive efficiencies and enable strategic decision-making.

About You
To excel in this role, you will have:
Essential Skills & Experience:
- 8+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analysis, and reporting.
- Expertise in building analytical assets such as Forecasting, Predictive Modelling, and Text Analysis.
- Strong background in working with raw data and transforming it into actionable insights.
- Proficiency in commercial visualisation tools such as SAS Viya, Tableau, or QlikView.
- Ability to adapt to multiple roles, including acting as a Business Analyst when needed.
- Experience with CI/CD practices, project tracking tools (e.g., JIRA), and version control systems (GIT, Bitbucket).
Desirable Skills & Qualifications:
- Relevant certifications in Business Intelligence tools.
- Knowledge of reporting objects, hierarchies, parameters, and XML editing in SAS VA/Tableau.
- Experience in release management and deployment best practices.
