HOBAN Recruitment is seeking an experienced APS6 level Business Analyst (Labour Hire) for a key role within a government agency based in Surry Hills NSW.
This position offers the opportunity to contribute to service design and process improvements that enhance participant experiences and improve service delivery.
About the Role
As an APS6 level Business Analyst, you will be responsible for analysing business processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing solutions that enhance operational efficiency. You will work under limited direction to provide technical, policy, and operational support, while engaging with a variety of stakeholders to drive meaningful change.
Key responsibilities include:
- Producing reports, interpreting data, and analysing results using standard statistical techniques.
- Coordinating reporting requirements to monitor and track performance outcomes.
- Developing business functional requirements within contractual, legislative, and policy frameworks.
- Translating business metrics to inform stakeholder requirements and optimise customer experience.
- Designing and facilitating workshops and stakeholder consultations.
- Establishing governance and compliance processes to track performance against targets.
- Implementing audit, risk processes, and issue resolution strategies.
- Evaluating the effectiveness of proposed solutions and designs.
- Supporting the transition of business requirements to build teams for development.
- Assisting with verification testing to ensure alignment with business requirements.

About You
We are looking for a proactive and analytical professional with a strong background in business analysis. The ideal candidate will have:
Essential skills:
- Proficiency in business process analysis and mapping.
- Experience in requirement gathering and documentation (Epics and User Stories).
- Strong problem-solving skills to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
- Ability to undertake system testing against defined acceptance criteria.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including workshop facilitation.
- Risk assessment capabilities to track issues, recommend solutions, and escalate concerns appropriately.
- Systems thinking expertise to develop and maintain subject matter knowledge.
Desirable skills:
- Data analysis capabilities to identify trends and insights.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
- Experience using business analysis tools like Jira and Confluence.
- Knowledge of process improvement frameworks.
- Strong collaboration skills to work across cross-functional teams.
