We’re seeking the next generation of cyber superstars to join the Victorian Government Cyber Internship Program. This six-month paid internship could kickstart your cyber security career!
From day one, interns will get hands-on experience in the Victorian Government’s Department of Government Services (DGS) and grow their cyber skills!
The Internship Program offers a unique chance to recent graduates of the Certificate IV in Cyber Security.

Who can apply for our Internship?
You are eligible to apply if you:
- Have successfully completed the Certificate IV in Cyber Security at a Victorian education provider from 1 January 2024 to 31 December 2024. If not completed within this timeframe, further relevant study/work experience must be demonstrated. Evidence will be requested throughout the recruitment process.
- Can complete a 6-month internship from February to August 2025.
- Have relevant rights to work in Australia.
- Have not taken a voluntary redundancy from the Victorian public sector in the 3 years up to the program start date.
The positions are full-time (38 hours a week), but we are open to requests for flexible working / part-time.
How the selection process works
The stages of the assessment process, include:
- Applications open (Thursday 17 October)
- Applications close (Sunday 3 November)
- Online Assessments (early – mid November)
- Panel Interview (late November – early December)
- Offers (Mid – late December)
You will need to perform strongly in each assessment to progress to the next stage, including application, online activities and interview.
Preferred candidates will be required to complete a Pre-employment Declaration and Consent Form.
Employment of successful candidates will be subject to a National Police Check.
