Smart Technology Critical to Filling More Jobs During COVID-19
HOBAN Recruitment has been recognised an 2020 Australian Business Awards’ ABA100 Winner for Business Technology. HOBAN was selected amongst many organisations including private, publicly listed, multinational subsidiaries, educational, and government organisations operating in Australia.
The annual Australian Business Awards recognises organisations that demonstrate the core values of business innovation, product innovation, technological achievement, and employee engagement. The Award for Business Technology identifies organisations that implement innovative technological solutions to meet new and existing business needs.
“I am delighted that HOBAN’s technological expertise and innovative approach – which has never been more important than it is now – has been recognised,” said Alison Watts, CEO of HOBAN Recruitment. “In fact, it was this technology which enabled our team to leave the office and work remotely without a blink when we went into lockdown back in March. That’s no small achievement for a business running 24/7 over a dozen locations.”
In 2019, HOBAN invested significantly in new technology platforms including front and back office, Applicant Tracking System, integrated onboarding, reference checking, enhanced reporting and compliance tools, and the introduction of automation across all workflows. This new technology suite has enabled HOBAN to add value and innovation to both employers and job seekers in many ways. Recently HOBAN on-boarded and assigned over 1,000 personnel in less than a week for a community critical project. Staff were required in large numbers at very short notice. HOBAN’s electronic onboarding capability delivered a COVIDSafe experience, allowing new starters to register online and be fully work-ready in just minutes. HOBAN also leveraged advanced AI within their system to source hard to find talent, at the touch of a button. This enhanced functionality allows HOBAN to keep in touch with job seekers about their next opportunity just moments after a vacancy is received.
HOBAN’s technology suite also recently rostered hundreds of customer service personnel across multiple locations supported by COVID-safe procedures; live updates were sent to the on-hire staff’s mobiles throughout the day enabling HOBAN and the employer to convey and receive business critical information in real-time. HOBAN leveraged geo-tracking technology to confirm attendance for staff working remotely. The confirmed roster easily uploaded into the timesheet system to process payroll automatically.
Established in 1965 as one of the first temporary staffing agencies in Melbourne, today HOBAN has a national network and a workforce across Australia. Last year HOBAN placed over 30,000 people into work.
Watts closed by saying, “We know how hard the team works, and how much effort we’ve put into creating a set of smart technology tools which deliver bespoke solutions for our clients and perfectly complement the uniquely human aspects of what we do. To be recognised with this award is very gratifying. Crucially, our technology allows us to better deliver on our commitment to our clients and candidates in a time where finding work for people has never been more important.”
