About the Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced Facilities & Maintenance Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day operation, maintenance and safety of a busy manufacturing facility.
This is a hands-on leadership role where your priority is ensuring the site's buildings, plant, contractors and essential services operate reliably to support production. You'll also lead the site's Work Health & Safety function, environmental compliance and essential site services.
Experience within pharmaceutical or GMP environments is beneficial, but not essential. We welcome candidates from manufacturing, food production, FMCG, logistics, industrial, medical devices or other complex operational environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead preventative and reactive maintenance across the site
- Manage building services including HVAC, electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems
- Coordinate contractors, maintenance schedules and capital works
- Ensure critical site infrastructure remains operational to support production
- Lead the site's Work Health & Safety function, ensuring compliance with WHS legislation and company policies
- Drive risk management, incident investigations, safety audits and continuous improvement initiatives
- Deliver safety training, contractor inductions and toolbox talks
- Manage site services including waste, pest control, security and cleaning
- Monitor maintenance budgets, supplier performance and contractor management
- Support business continuity through effective facilities and infrastructure management
About You
You'll bring:
- Experience managing facilities, maintenance or site operations within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong contractor management and maintenance planning experience
- Knowledge of building services including HVAC, electrical, plumbing or mechanical systems
- A sound understanding of Australian WHS legislation and compliance
- Experience leading safety initiatives, audits and incident investigations
- Trade, engineering, facilities management or WHS qualifications (highly regarded)
- Experience within a regulated industry is advantageous but not essential
- Current driver's licence and flexibility to respond to occasional after-hours site issues if required
